Rousseau Andre O’Neal III stands as the Senior Pastor at Rockdale Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Pastor O’Neal has been effectively bringing hope through the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area.

Throughout his life, Pastor O’Neal has worked diligently at his home church, Rockdale Baptist Church in Avondale. After working with teenage boys in the community, Pastor O'Neal was inspired to lead programs for youth and young adults alike.  He officially began his ministry in 2001 after attending Cincinnati Bible College.  He has held many offices including Youth Minister, Worship Leader, Preaching Pastor, Acting Pastor and now Senior Pastor. He has organized, managed and participated in Basketball Outreach at local schools and community centers, drug awareness programs, volunteer programs, youth bible studies and revivals.

Pastor Rousseau Andre O’Neal III has also served as the Vice President of the Avondale Concerned Clergy which aids in bringing churches and the community together to better the livelihood of Avondale.  This lead him to manage prayer walks and Increase the Peace Concerts Series which began in other communities but found a home in Avondale.  He has also been a member in the Baptist Minister Conference, Faith Community Alliance and the Men of Valor. His church and community work have lead him to be acknowledged by the Cincinnati Enquirer as one of the Emerging Leaders in the African American Community.

Not only is Pastor O'Neal serving his church and community but he is also in Pharmaceutical Sales to support his wife of 11 years, Carla O’Neal, and their baby girl, McKenzie Faith O’Neal.  Pastor O’Neal continues to push the Rockdale Baptist Church body to live a full life of Christ which has developed into the slogan #ROCKLIFE, “Building a Spiritual House with Living Stones.”

Rousseau A. O'Neal II has been an active Pastor of Rockdale Baptist Church since March 1998. Pastor O’Neal married First Lady Monica Deborah Vinson O’Neal in 1977. They are the proud parents of 5 children and 13 grandchildren. He was ordained in the Ministry in 1983 and has been preaching for 32 years. He is currently President of the Faith Community Alliance and active in many other organizations, secular & religious. He is the recipient of Cincinnati Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice Religious & Labor Man of the Year Award: Baptist Ministers Conference, Health Alliance, Martin Luther King Jr. Spirit Award; Urban League outstanding dedication service commitment to Black Church Week of Prayer for the Healing of Aids. Other recognition included: Council of Christian Communions Charles P. Taft Ecumenical award. Pastor O’Neal is known for his presence in Religious, Political, Educational and Social arenas supporting the needs of people. Pastor O’Neal is also a former councilman in the city of Forest Park. He continues to be a beacon of the Avondale community and the city of Cincinnati as a whole.

Children’s Church is open Sundays for morning services. Children remain in main sanctuary on 5th Sundays.

Christian Youth Development (C.Y.D.)


Empowering Youth in knowledge, leadership, community awareness, identity, and health through Christian education and values – Improving spiritual, health, and developmental outcomes; Encouraging the understanding of their own natural gifts an talents; Instilling the ability to set and accomplish goals regardless of circumstances or setbacks; Reducing violence toward themselves and others; Understanding their voice in society and becoming a positive member of their community.

Teens After God (T.A.G.)

Mission Statement:

The mission of Rockdale Baptist Church's Teen ministry, "Teens After God (T.A.G.)", is to make a positive difference in the life of youth (ages 12 to 18), with the use of the Word of God.  T.A.G. will accomplish this by providing resources, having activities and supporting youth as they seek after God and grow spiritually.


The Vision of Teens After God (T.A.G.) is to have youth grow spiritually in Christian principles, developing an increased thirst to seek after God independently.

Ages 18 to 35 are welcome.


To support young adults as they go along their walk toward a higher calling. We work to promote the kingdom and develop the souls of our members through community service, Bible study and events focusing on our age group.

Women of Excellence (W.O.E.)


To totally equip the Christian Woman physically, emotionally and spiritually. Our duty as Women of Excellence is to seek, to desire, to pursue Heaven as our end and Holiness as our way.

Men of Rockdale (M.O.R.)


To develop men to be Christian disciplines through increase in membership and involvement in church activities.


Children’s Choir


To train up the children in music and praises to God by lifting up the name of Jesus through song.

Youth & Young Adult Choir


To sing God’s praises and minister the Word of Jesus Christ in song.

Adult Choir


To sing holy praises to God and to lift the name of Jesus through song.

Male Chorus


To develop our men to minister through song, praise and worship thus says the Lord!

The Word in Motion (Dance Ministry)


To proclaim and demonstrate the Kingdom of God, to be living sacrifices to the Lord through reverent and expressive movement in the dance. They bring unity, healing, deliverance and salvation to the body of Christ through their worship in the dance.
